Privacy policy.

Newsletter. Your email address, an optional first name, and where you signed up from (for example the homepage or one of our free tools). We use double opt-in, so we also record when you confirmed.

Free member account. If you create one, your email address (used to sign you in) and any calculator results you choose to save.

Feedback. If you answer our reader survey, whatever you type. You can answer anonymously, and every question is optional.

Email engagement. Whether our emails reach you (deliveries and bounces), whether they are opened, and clicks on the links inside them. Open tracking works the way it does for almost every newsletter: a tiny invisible image in the email that loads when you open it. Blocking images in your mail app stops it, and the emails work fine without it.

Site usage. Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, not people) and error logs so we can fix things that break. No advertising trackers, no cross-site anything.

Sending you the newsletter you asked for, running your account, honouring unsubscribes, keeping the list healthy, and making the content better based on what readers actually open and click.

We sometimes share aggregate numbers - like how many readers opened last Friday's issue - with partners or sponsors. Aggregates only. We never share, sell, or rent your email address or anything else that identifies you.

Consent, for the newsletter itself (you signed up and confirmed, and can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing). Contract, for running a member account you created. Legitimate interests, for engagement measurement, analytics, and error logging - done in the least intrusive way we can manage.

A small set of service providers process data on our behalf: Loops and Resend (sending email), Neon (our database), Vercel (hosting), Clerk (account sign-in), Sentry (error tracking), and Umami (analytics). Some are based outside the UK; where they are, transfers are covered by recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

The public site sets no tracking cookies - our analytics is cookieless. If you sign in to a member account, essential cookies keep you signed in. That's it.

While you're subscribed, we keep what's above. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record so we never email you again, and stop tracking anything new. If you want everything gone, email us and we'll erase your data entirely.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, object to our use of it, or hand it over in a portable format. Email hello@ricksmoneyclub.com and we'll sort it. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes get a mention in the newsletter itself.
